Food scanner

Scan a barcode to see calories, sugar, salt and a health grade. No app needed, right in your browser.

or type the number under the bars

A food scanner reads the barcode on the pack and shows the label data: calories, protein, sugar (in teaspoons), salt, additives and a health grade from A to E.

What you see after scanning

  • Calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat per 100 g and per serving.
  • Sugar in teaspoons, which is easier to picture.
  • Salt, and the share of the recommended daily limit it makes up.
  • Ingredients, additives (E numbers) and what they mean.
  • A health grade from A to E and a list of healthier alternatives.

How it works

  1. Press “Scan a barcode with the camera” and allow camera access.
  2. Point the camera at the barcode on the pack.
  3. The product page opens with calories, ingredients and the grade – from there you can add it to your food diary.

Frequently asked questions

Is the food scanner free?

Yes, scanning a product and its data page are free. The number of free scans per day is limited; Premium removes the limit.

Do I need to install an app?

No. The scanner works in the browser on a phone or computer. iOS and Android apps are in the works, but you do not need them – everything runs in the browser.

What if the product is not found?

Add it yourself: a name and calories are enough, and you can photograph the nutrition table. Once checked, the product appears for everyone.

Where does the data come from?

From product labels and open databases (Open Food Facts). The health grade is calculated from label data and does not replace the advice of a doctor or dietitian.
