Products where protein is more than 70 % of all energy.
A product qualifies when protein supplies at least 70 % of its energy, there is at least 10 g of it per 100 g, and salt stays under 1.5 g per 100 g. The 70 % line matters: chicken and turkey breast, curd and fish usually draw 85–90 % of their energy from protein, and a stricter line would throw them out. The salt limit keeps fresh meat and fish while excluding smoked and cured goods. The share is worked out by energy rather than by weight, because a gram of fat carries 9 kcal against 4 for protein. The highest protein share comes first.
